ABOUT OUR STUDIO
Engaging Communities through Music Education and Performance
Opus38 Studio was founded in 2013 as Syntonique Studio in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood. From the beginning, the studio served students and families throughout SoMa, Mission Bay, Potrero Hill, Hayes Valley, and the Financial District.
In 2021, the studio was reimagined as Opus38 Studio. The number 38 was chosen in honor of the latitude of San Francisco—a city known for creativity, innovation, and constant evolution. As the city has grown and changed, so has our studio.
We continue to explore modern and meaningful ways to learn music together, embracing technology to stay connected and expand access to high-quality instruction. During the pandemic, online teaching opened new possibilities for collaboration and allowed us to build relationships with musicians beyond the Bay Area.
Today, Opus38 Studio has taught students throughout California, across the United States, and internationally in Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
At Opus38, we strive to create a place of calm, inspiration, and artistic growth within the fast-paced rhythm of city life. We believe music helps us reconnect with what matters most—joy, creativity, discipline, and community.
