OPUS38 STUDIO POLICY AND GUIDELINES

2025–2026 School Year

 

Welcome to Opus38 Studio. Our goal is to provide an exceptional music education experience in a focused, creative, and supportive environment. Enrollment confirms agreement with the policies below.

1. Tuition & Billing

  1. Tuition is paid by credit card through the Student Portal only.

  2. Auto-pay is required for memberships and processed on the 1st of each month.

  3. A $25 late fee applies after the 15th.

  4. Accounts more than 30 days past due may be placed on hold.

  5. All lesson fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

2. Membership Changes & Cancellation

  1. Membership is month-to-month.

  2. Cancellation requests must be submitted by the 20th of the month to stop billing for the following month.

School-Year Holds (Aug–May)

  1. Students may place membership on hold for 50% tuition.

  2. Holds are limited to up to 2 consecutive months once per year.

  3. Holds preserve the lesson day/time.

  4. No lessons or makeup credits occur during holds.

3. Attendance & Cancellations

  1. Your membership reserves a specific lesson time.

  2. Lessons cannot be extended for late arrivals.

  3. Cancellations must be made through the Student Portal.

  4. Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice are forfeited.

Online Lessons

  1. Teacher waits up to 15 minutes.

  2. Failure to log in is considered a missed lesson.

4. Makeup Lessons

  1. Makeup lessons are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

  2. Students book makeups through the portal.

  3. Makeup credits expire after 30 days.

  4. Makeup lessons cannot be rescheduled once booked.

5. Summer Lessons

Summer schedule is flexible.

Students may choose:

  1. Regular membership continuation (subject to teacher availability), or

  2. À la carte lessons

Regular weekly lesson times are not guaranteed during summer.

6. Student Expectations

Students must have:

  1. A functional acoustic piano or 88-key weighted keyboard

  2. Assigned books/materials

  3. Completed practice assignments

Students are expected to be respectful to teachers, students, and studio property.

No food or drinks near instruments.

7. Health & Safety

  1. Students who are ill should stay home. Online lessons may be arranged when possible.

  2. Children are supervised during lesson time only.

  3. Prompt pickup is required after lessons.

  4. Children under age 9 must be accompanied by an adult.

8. Performances & Events

Opus38 offers recitals, workshops, and masterclasses throughout the year.

  1. Participation is optional unless otherwise stated.

  2. Some special events may require additional fees.

9. Communication

Families must keep Student Portal contact information current, including emergency contacts.

Official announcements, closures, and schedules are posted through the portal.

10. Studio Rights

The studio reserves the right to suspend or discontinue enrollment due to:

  1. Non-payment

  2. Repeated absences

  3. Chronic tardiness

  4. Disruptive behavior

  5. Failure to follow studio policies
